Low Code Glamping for Pro Code Campers
Low code / no code platforms have exploded in popularity with audiences not traditionally considered technical professionals. Ecosystems such as the Microsoft Power Platform offer fit for purpose capabilities that help people solve technical problems in less technical ways. For a traditional technical professional (developer, engineer, architect etc.) there is value in knowing where low code /no code platforms capabilities and how/when to extend and/or integrate with pro code features. In this 300-level technical session we’ll explore the capabilities of the Microsoft Power Platform from a technical professional’s mindset and how each capability can become an important tool in a technical professional’s toolbox. We’ll start by viewing the world as an architect and discuss where Power Platform capabilities might replace home-grown / custom solutions. We’ll put on our developer hat and unpack Power Apps and Power Automate to showcase some of the interesting extension/integration points where custom solutions can augment out of the box experiences. We’ll explore developer workflow using Azure DevOps including source control, CI/CD pipelines, tests and more to extend developer practices to the low code / no code ecosystem. Finally, we’ll wrap it up with some real-world examples of getting solution with less code.
