The Emerging Field of Human Factors in Cybersecurity
This talk is designed to help all people interested learn about how human factors influences cyber programs. This is still an emerging field and will be a big boom in the job industry in the coming years. More and more Human Factors Engineers (HFE) researchers are showing the gaps in cyber programs and how we can address them by taking training / awareness to the next level. And not just training - but how to stop common problems before they occur by using the behavioral sciences. This presentation will cover psychological concepts like cognition, perception, and intention and how they apply to common situations and problems within cybersecurity programs. Anyone could attend, technical or non-technical, because a number of 'soft skills' like emotional intelligence and empathy will be covered as related to cybersecurity programs.
