Hands On with Deep Learning for Folks Without (or With!) a Ph.D.
Wednesday, July 28, 2021 - 6:00 PM UTC, for 4 hours.
ON THAT (Online Only) Workshop (pre-conference)
More than a buzzword, deep learning is one of the fastest growing skills in machine learning and in computing. And it's more accessible than it might sound. This workshop takes attendees from the concepts of neural networks to hands on experience with algorithms and libraries that can perform image detection, natural language processing, self driving cars and more! Using Python, a very easy to learn and use language (and one of the most sought after languages in the industry today), the workshop covers TensorFlow and Keras, two deep learning frameworks from Google which are widely used in both industry and research. It also covers tools such as TensorBoard and Jupyter notebook for quick feedback through the deep learning workflow. The materials will be accessed through Google Colab, a free, online environment so attendees only need a computer with a recent web browser and a Google login.
- Introduction to Python (just enough to get through the day) - History of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Deep Learning - TensorFlow and Keras - Neural Networks - Convolutional Neural Networks and Image Processing - Recurrent Neural Networks and Natural Language Processings - Transfer Learning - Time permitting: Reinforcement Learning, Deployment, Automated Training, TensorBoard, TFX
- Understand that machine learning and deep learning are within the reach of any developer
- Be able to build simple neural networks using Python and Keras
- You don't have to know a lot of math
