Solid for React Developers
Thursday, February 1, 2024 - 8:30 PM UTC, for 1 hour.
Regular, 60 minute presentation
Room: Campsite 1
The talk will walk through the dozens of ways that Solid is slightly different from React, e.g. storing state in signals rather than React state, and the many ways that the two frameworks are similar, e.g. JSX in Components with Context, etc. The ideal attendee will approach the talk with an "I've heard about this Solid thing, but I don't really know how it works" to leaving with an understanding of what Solid's strengths and weaknesses are, and when to reach for it instead of React.
The talk presupposes some experience with React, the ubiquitous incumbent frontend framework.
