AWS Lambda Patterns and Pitfalls

Many people underestimate how much can be done with lambdas. It's an incredibly powerful and flexible compute platform. However overly enthusiastic adoption of lambdas can lead to trouble. There are lots of nuances that can cause difficult to diagnose bugs, stress or overwhelm downstream systems, or cause unexpected outages. If you aren't aware of the circumstances that can cause these issues, using lambdas can become very cumbersome. These problems are easy to avoid if you know to look out for them. We'll discuss how several of these pitfalls happen, and what patterns can be used to avoid or mitigate them.
