A lot of frontend engineers come from a non CS background. As frontend applications become more complex, and frontend engineers move into API code, writing efficient algorithms is an important skill, especially for landing roles in big tech. In this presentation, we will cover some of basic tools for analyzing complexity in algorithms, common patterns used to make more efficient algorithms, and an overview of some common data structures that can be used to increase code performance. This session will be focused on Javascript, but most of the concepts can be applied to other languages.

Take Aways

  • Learn how to assess algorithm efficiency.
  • Understand new patterns and tricks to solve common problems.
  • Start developing the skills needed to expand your current role or land the next one.
